The $8999 list-priced BenQ HT9060 is a serious projector with high performance features. Its advanced DLP technology eliminates pixel shifters and blends pixels to produce 8.3 million distinct images, resulting in superb image clarity with a sharp contrast ratio of 50,000:1. The projector also has a wide color gamut and supports HDR.
The projector autofocus 4k projector has a sleek design and is suitable for subtle ceiling-mount, hidden, cabinet, or wall-inset installations. Its front-facing ventilation design keeps the HT9060 cool, quiet, and stylish.
When it comes to brightness, the HT9060 is in a class by itself. Its rated 2,200 lumens is more than double that of the Sony VPL-VW295ES and is more than sufficient for most light-controlled home theater rooms. The HT9060 also produces rich colors and is more accurate for HDR than many lower-cost 1-chip DLP projectors that claim HDR10 compatibility.
Its HDR mode is also quite good, although deep shadows look a little washed out. This is a terrific value for anyone who wants a home theater projector that is capable of handling high dynamic range content, and can deliver excellent movie performance in a darkened room. It also performs very well with sports and games, especially with some ambient light in the room.
